Table Runner 01, by Ceil

Regular price Sale price R 2,495.00 Sale

This felted table runner is hand made with pure merino wool, which is locally sourced and hand dyed. Felting involves layering raw fibres and transforming them through water, soap, and gentle agitation, binding them into a strong, organic fabric- a process which allows each piece to develop its own character, shaped as much by hand as by the behaviour of the fibres themselves.

Dimensions: 1.8m L x 380cm W

The maker
Ceil Ann is a textile artist working between Cape Town and Barrydale, creating handcrafted pieces from pure Merino wool. Her journey began while studying printmaking at the Michaelis School of Fine Art, where a fascination with material and process gradually led her from paper to fibre, and ultimately to the ancient craft of feltmaking.

Today, she creates richly textured table runners and textiles that blur the line between functional homeware and contemporary art. Every piece is shaped entirely by hand, embracing the natural warmth, softness and character of wool.

What we love most about Ceil Ann's work is its originality. Her textiles feel both refined and organic, bringing texture, warmth and a sense of artistry to everyday spaces.

Care guide
Spot clean only with a barely damp cloth. Do not submerge in water or machine wash. Lay flat to dry away from direct sunlight, which may cause natural fibres to fade or become brittle over time. Store flat or loosely rolled — never folded, as creases can become permanent.
