Our Story

At Musha we believe home should feel sacred. Every piece we share is unique, made by artisans whose skills have often been passed down through generations. When you choose something crafted by an artist you're choosing more than an object. You're choosing time, skill, tradition, a livelihood, a story.

Musha is the Shona word for homestead. Not simply a house, but a place of belonging where stories are shared and hands create and generations pass knowledge from one to the next. Where the people we love gather together to share in each other's lives.

Musha was born to celebrate the incredible makers found across Africa. This continent has some of the richest artistic traditions in the world yet so much of that talent remains unseen. Our hope is to build lasting relationships with artisans across Africa, creating opportunities for their work to reach homes around the world, investing back into communities while preserving the craftsmanship that makes each piece unique. 

The world has largely forgotten where the things in our homes come from. We've become surrounded by objects with no story, made by people we’ll never know, in factories we've never seen. Things that were designed to be replaced before they've even had the chance to become a part of our lives. We hope to change that.

We don't believe every home needs more things, but we do believe that the things a home does have should be special, well made and truly loved. Things you'll keep for years, not seasons.
